Loredana Avagliano

Loredana Avagliano is the director of the SaharaClay project, who has developed a deep connection and genuine interest in the Sahrawi people. With a dedicated background in supporting artists women from conflict-affected communities, Loredana launches project to unify art, ceramic craftsmanship, and the empowerment of women facing challenges. SaharaClay thus becomes a space where creativity and resilience thrive, offering hope and opportunities to those in need.

Graduated in Political Science from the I.U.O Federico II University of Naples, she furthered her by studying the history the Near East and Mediterranean Africa in Paris, as well as American in Boston, USA. Specializing in European law and management of European funds at the SIOI in Rome, her passion for ceramics led her to train with ceramist Pierino Pisapia in Cava de' Tirreni from 1998 to 2004. has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Italy and, earning notable accolades such as third place in the “OCA Officine Ceramiche Award” in 2022 and second place in the “Fratelli Melis International Ceramics Award” in Bosa in 3. Currently, she majolica and porcelain jewelry at her ceramic studio, LOAV, located at Corsoberto I, 122 Cava de' Tirreni (SA).
Nuria Pozas is a Spanish artist residing in Avilés, Asturias. As a member of AIC-IAC (International Academy Ceramics), she has undertaken numerous ceramic and artistic projects both in Spain and internationally. Her dedication to art has made her an active member of the Agrupacion de Ceramistas Asturianos and a part of the archive of Asturian artists at La Laboral.
Additionally she directs the cultural association Lado Norte, located in the heart of Asturias that aims to unite and strengthen artistic diversity in all its forms. It serves as an and vibrant space where artists from various backgrounds can create, share, and grow. They develop artistic projects with marginalized communities and international groups, generating accessible artistic experiences that connect and communities.
